KINDERGARTEN IS IMPORTANT FOR CHILDREN AGE 4-6

Kindergarten years are now being experienced by children mostly from the upper class family. Even some of them experience playgroup years. For lower class society, education sometimes is regarded not really important and just a way of wasting money. Thus, most of them choose to directly enroll their children to elementary school. But that ideology is wrong. Kindergarten year is important as a stepping stone to come to formal education before they come to elementary years. Besides, most elementary schools demand the ability of students to read, count and write when they enroll in the elementary school.

In another hand, appears a thinking that skills such reading, counting, and writing can be taught in home, but are parents now have enough time to teach those kinds of things to their children? Nowadays, mostly parents’ times are for working, even taking care of children stuff is given to other people (eg: baby sitter). Here, the role of kindergarten is really important to help parents too.

Further more, kindergarten is the first formal education before stepping elementary school. In kindergarten, children are able to develop all their potential through playing and socializing so that when they really come to the elementary years, they can understand situation around them that they have responsibility, rule, disciplines which need to be obeyed.

And also, in kindergarten, children can learn to socialize with the school`s citizen such as teachers and friends. Further, they can learn to establish their confidence. For socialization, here the kids will find things that are different from their usual environment at home, because the scope is broader in kindergarten than at home. Those different things are, for example, the characters or the attitudes of friends, teachers, or even a janitor of school.

These characters, can serve as examples for learning about what is good to follow or which ones should be avoided. Kowing the character or attitude of a person should have been trained since ealier ages. Because, with we can know someone better, we can form a good team work. And kindergarten is a kind of ways to socialize while children are still premature.

Meanwhile, children are also taught to recognize colors, shapes, rhythms and others through playing. Even some kindergartens also teach the children to pray, speak foreign language (eg: In English and Mandarin), about politeness, courteous manners, and also to express themselves trough the art performances are organized by the school. So, many children can be more confident and familiar with various foreign languages.

Surely, these ways give benefits. Because, nowadays, someone is demanded to be able to speak foreign languages to communicate internationally, not only as teaching material in schools. So, that kindergarten slowly helps higher schools to introduce more about foreign languages to children in their early ages.

Thus, kindergarten is seriously important for our children as a stepping step and a way learning how to socialized.
